Master Rob
I AM MASTER ROB is a positive reflection of his many creative gifts expressed through various artistic channels. I AM placed before his name, ROB - is to represent the center of consciousness that cannot be divided. Whether a performing artist or applied artist, “the fact still remains that I AM.”
Master Rob, an author, songwriter, singer, dancer, model, hair stylist, and Spiritual Healer, was born in North Carolina where he also attended North Carolina Central University (NCCU). Following that, he moved to Brooklyn, NY.
Master Rob is an author. In 1988, he began daily journaling, as he realized writing was a productive way to track his life’s events, which he did in great detail. While attending NCCU, he began the self-exploration process to find various ways to live, love himself more, and free himself from pleasing everyone else, except himself. The revelation was manifested through his writing. Over the years, he built a substantial number of journals and written expressions. One day, while in a writing session with the soulful singer, Charlene Fitzpatrick, who was thumbing through his work, she remarked that he had books sitting all around the room. His journaling and writings eventually gave birth to his first book, The Quest for Peace. This self-publication, signed by and performed at Michael Thompson’s, The Brooklyn Moon Café in Brooklyn NY, was dedicated to Master Rob’s father, Walter Robinson Jr.
Master Rob was a dancer. As the years passed, he was a part of the working system that kept him away from the arts. He had a few friends at the ministries he attended who were very active in their arts career. These friends encouraged him to attend performances, events, and castings, and he occasionally did. This was very grievous for him since he was not actively doing the things he loved, the arts. Through the urging of his friends, he was introduced to the dance world. He met Jamel Gaines from Creative Outlet. His first time in class was somewhat intimidating; however, the supportive dancers he joined would not allow him to easily give up, and he was introduced to many other amazing people in the dance world. Some of those individuals responsible for his life’s transitions are Kevin Jeff of Jubilations (now, Deeply Rooted), Obediah Wright of Balance Dance Theater, and Lee Lynn Ako Thompson who blessed his life immensely. These were powerful business and spiritual mentors who helped to clear the path toward living Master Rob’s dreams.
As a model, Master Rob found himself at various casting calls, auditions, and more. He was casted for a major National Basketball Association (NBA) trading cards campaign which was shot by Jill Greenburg and featured in Source Magazine and countless billboards, subways, and other places all over New York City and beyond. He did other billboard campaigns with one of his favorites, Coors Lite billboard, shot at the Carl H. Williams Advertising agency located in Oakland, California. He also worked on other various projects such as The Original Gangstas shoot at 510 Media, also in Oakland, California, overseen by Nana Kofi Nti, which gave birth to a few upcoming life-changing projects.
Master Rob is also a loctician – a natural hair specialist. This experience began when he was asked to model for a Natural Hair Care show hosted by the famous Locks N Chops Salon in Manhattan, NY. This salon was founded by the pioneer, Ademola Mandella. Master Rob fell in love with this new look of a natural twist hairstyle, and eventually decided to do his own hair. In doing so, many individuals queried about this. It was then that the phrase, we are sitting on our millions and don’t even know it rang clear for him. He heeded and began experimenting with hair, birthing his journey into the natural hair care arena.
This aspect of his career, working with hair took off and his ability to listen to clients was evident. As a formally trained hair care practitioner, he has worked in various salons and barbershops. His training made it seamless for him to move from studying to teaching students in other salons on how to become a loctician. His abilities as a barber were also enhanced with time. He has since left the salons and barbershops and now takes clients via appointment only.
I AM ROB, the prophet is ever present. A very important piece of his hair care journey is that his gift of prophecy opens up while working with clients and ministering to them. He has not only built trust, but also strong and long-lasting relationships.
Master Rob is songwriter. Throughout the years of living his dreams, he has written several songs. One of them, Can You See the Light found on the Body & Soul Volume 1 album, became a house music classic, and was finally credited properly in 1997. Master Rob has had opportunities to work with the diva of house music, Barbara Tucker, under the globally known, B’Star Music Company, where he did performances and various events. One of his favorite places and second home is Ibiza, Spain, a place that he has had many majestic experiences with Source/God, while being surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea.
Living Your Dreams came forth because this is what Master Rob has been doing all his life - living his dreams. He has always been involved in the church from childhood. Throughout his life’s journey, he remained steadfast in seeking and learning more about God. He began to truly overstand and innerstand the true meaning of the I Am consciousness. In the early 2000s, he began teaching Living Your Dreams classes.
Master Rob credits few ministries that have been instrumental in raising his consciousness. These include Praise the Lord Ministries, Unbroken Chain, Zoe Ministries and Gifted Life Ministries. His studies and training have been extensive, thus expanding his gift of prophecy to unknown heights. He continues to be committed to God/Source, a bond that could never be severed. His diligence has opened many doors along his journey. He has been a speaker for Bishop Jordan; taken classes on public speaking with Prophetess Debra Jones, who has assisted in further opening avenues for voice-over work; and performed the voice of Chaka Zulu and the British Reporter set on the stage of Aaron Davis Hall in Harlem, NY. Through his many years of commitment studying at Gifted Life Ministries, under his spiritual father and mother Apostle Laborn Baize and Prophetess Denise Baize, Master Rob was elevated to the office of Prophet. His studies are never ending and he is also licensed as a Healing Evangelist under the Christian Bible Institute & Seminary Prelate Dr. Shammah Womack El. Living Your Dreams is always incomplete, and ever expanding.
